Ready to help shape the future of our district?
As HaDCRA moves into its next chapter, we are looking for local residents with fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a couple of hours a week to join our management committee and help run things behind the scenes. Our management committee consists of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 members.
The founding team who have run things from the start have put in an enormous amount of heart to get us through the initial recovery phase, and they are ready to hand over the reins for a well deserved breather. You don't need formal experience, just a care for our district and a willingness to lend a hand.
Please note: you must be a registered HaDCRA member before you can nominate. At the AGM, members will vote to elect management committee members generally (up to 7 positions total), with specific roles to be appointed by the elected committee afterward.
Management Committee nomination FAQs
- Do I need formal governance or board experience?
- Not at all. We are a local community group, not a corporate board. If you care about our district and can share a few practical ideas, you have all the qualifications you need.
- How many people are on the Management Committee?
- The management committee is made up of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 elected members to keep things practical and collaborative.
- How much time does a management committee role actually take?
- As little as 1 to 2 hours a week. Management committee roles are designed to share the load so no single person carries all the work.
- Do I need to nominate for a specific role right now (like President or Treasurer)?
- No. At this stage, you are simply nominating to be a general management committee member. Management committee members will be elected overall at the AGM, and specific roles will be decided together by the elected committee down the track.
- Can I nominate if I haven't been involved in the Hub yet?
- Absolutely. Fresh perspectives and new local hands are exactly what we are looking for as we enter this next chapter. Just make sure to sign up as a member first.
